Everyday Makeup Routine Article Response

I recently read an article about an everyday makeup routine that teenage girls can use on  daily basis.  The article basically told you 7 steps that when putting on your makeup in the morning. I think that this article was very informative and helpful. Especially for a teen girl who needs a few tips and wants a pretty natural look that can do everyday. They also gave tips on how to complete this steps which I thought was very helpful. I do wish that they could have maybe given some references to places that carry the products needed for this routine. However, this will very depending on where you live; so, I understand why they didn't do it. Another thing I enjoyed was how they gave reasoning for why you shouldn't do this or why you should do that. For example, they said "always wash your face and hands before putting on makeup to avoid build up of bacteria which will lead to acne". I did find this very helpful from a science perspective. My makeup routine in the morning is different from this one, but still pretty basic. I usually start by applying concealer to underneath my eyes and any pimples. Next, I apply eyeshadow primer and a gold shimmery eyeshadow all over my eyelid. Then, I curl my eyelashes with an eyelash curler. Finally, I put a couple layers of mascara on my eyelashes and viola! I am all done and it only took around 5 minutes! Both the makeup routine in the article and my makeup routine allow you to look mature but still natural and age appropriate. This is very important as a teenager even though some magazines and commercials suggest otherwise.
Tell me what you think about this discussion! What do you think about this makeup routine? Do you think it makes teenage girls look older than they are supposed to? Click here to look at the article discussed in this blog.

  1. This is such a perfect topic for girls! I love that you gave some extra tips along the way which will really be helpful for just about any teenage girl. I had never really thought about washing my hands before putting on my makeup, but I think that it will really be helpful. I do not usually have a makeup routine; it kind of just varies on the day and my mood. Although I do not always have a makeup routine, I really love yours because it is quick, simple, and easy to do.

  2. Personally, I choose to wear very little makeup. Let me rephrase that: my face is basically naked...I'm not against makeup wearing for teenage girls, I'm just against getting out of bed early to put it on!

Despite my morning slothfulness, I feel like your morning makeup routine is quick, easy, and would look natural on everyone.

It's perfect because it's not to heavy and age inappropriate. Some girls I look at and think,"How did their parents let them leave the house with all that make up on?!?"
But, the tips were very helpful and insure for a face that you don't have to sneak past your parents to wear!

Also, your blog is very cute and I look forward to more post ;)

  3. I love that this article talked about a very natural and easy look. Some girls come to school with perfect makeup everyday, and I wonder how they had time to accomplish that in the morning. Also some girls simply wear to much makeup that does not look very natural. The makeup routine talked about in this article and the one that you described seem very quick and cute, and could be easily done without someone having to rush in the morning. I usually wear very little to no makeup, but if needed I could use this.

I love the design of this blog, especially the colors, and I can not wait for more posts.

  4. I believe a simple, easy, and natural make-up routine is the way to go! My make-up routine usually takes me thirty minutes or so, but much of that time is spent watching the television. I do watch tutorials on how to make your make-up routine more natural and efficient. The reason I wear make-up is that it makes me feel good about myself and allows me to cover any unnecessary blemishes on my face. Simple natural looking make-up always look the best! When people read this article, they will realize that they do not need a lot of make-up to make them look beautiful.

  5. This blog was very helpful and i will definitely look into the article knowing how much it helped you. Yes, it is a good idea to wash your hands especially if you are outside a lot and if you play sports! I love that the routine will give you a natural look after applying makeup, because you always see the girls who have their foundation and powder caked onto their face. I am sure they would also save much more time, because there is no telling how long that takes them! Kaylee, really enjoyed this blog and the way you came across this subject and your routine rather than what the article gave you.

  6. I absolutely love your blog! I love your makeup routine and how it is simple and not too over powering for girls our age. Unlike other routines, I like how yours almost sends a little message to girls saying that they do not have to wear a lot of makeup to bring out their beauty! Yours shows that being natural is the most beautiful you can be. I love the vibrant colors of your blog along with your topic and cant wait for more posts!
